Introducing: The Royal Family of Monaco

Prince Rainier III (1923-2005)
Rainier’s mother, Princess Charlotte, was actually illegitimate. Her father Louis II, getting older and with no legitimate children, legitimized her and made her his heir. She never took the throne, and in fact renounced her rights to her son, Rainier, the day before his 21st birthday.
Rainier became the Sovereign Prince of Monaco upon the death of his grandfather in 1949.
During WW2, Rainier served in the Free French Army. During the 40s and 50s he was in a long term relationship with the French film actress Gisele Pascal. Rainier’s sister, Princess Antoinette, wanted her own son to ascend to the throne, and spread rumors that Pascal was infertile. The rumors along with her treatment by the press and public ended their relationship.
After the war Monaco, a country who made its money primarily as a gambling origin, was in crisis as wealthy Europeans found their funds diminished after the war. To restore Monaco’s treasury Rainier decided to promote Monaco as a tax haven, and he personally took control of SBM (the company who owns the Monte Carlo Casino, Opera, and Hostel de Paris) in 1964. Prince Albert still retains a large share of the company and profits from it today.
Marriage:
Everyone knows this one. Rainier married American film star Grace Kelly in 1956.
Their marriage is rumored to have been turbulent. It is said that Grace struggled with adjusting to royal life, regretted ending her film career, and that Rainier had extramarital affairs. Her children have stated that though she was a loving mother, they spent more time with nannies than with their parents.
Grace's dress is iconic, but here you go if you want to revisit some photos from that day.
Rainier smoked up to 60 cigarettes per day, and in the last years of his life his health steadily declined. On March 8th, 2005 he entered the hospital for a lung infection and by the end of the month he was on a ventilator suffering from renal and heart failure. On March 31st he officially announced his son Albert, as regent, and on April 6th he died.
The Constitution
Monaco’s constitution stated that Monaco is a constitutional monarchy ruled by the hereditary princes of the Grimaldi. If the reigning prince were to die without leaving a male heir, Monaco, according to the treaty, would be incorporated into France. In 2002, realizing he had a 43 year old bachelor son, Rainier amended the constitution to allow the crown to pass to his daughters should Albert not marry.
Grace, Princess of Monaco (1929-1982)
Grace was born in Philadelphia to an affluent and influential family. Her father was an Olympian and a Democratic nominee for Mayor of Philadelphia and was appointed by President Roosevelt as National Director of Physical Fitness. Her mother taught physical education at the University of Pennsylvania and coached women’s athletics at Penn.
Her Uncle, George Kelly, was a Pulitzer prize winning dramatist, screenwriter, and director and used his influence to gain Grace admission to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Grace became one of the biggest movie stars of her generation.
In 1955 she was sent to the Cannes Film Festival and invited to appear in photos with Prince Rainier. After a year-long courtship, they were married in 1956.
Grace was not allowed to continue her acting career after her marriage. She instead devoted herself to her role as Princess, become heavily involved with the Red Cross of Monaco and the Rainbow Children Coalition.
On September 13, 1982, Kelly was driving back to Monaco after spending time at her country home. During the drive she had a stroke, lost control of her vehicle, and drove off the mountainside. She died a day later.
An article on their relationship
Prince Albert II (b. 1958)
Prince Albert is one of the wealthiest royals in the world with a net worth at more than $1B. He attended Amherst College in Massachusetts, studying political science, economics, music, and English literature, and completed his education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He toured Europe in 1979 as part of the Amherst College Glee Club.
Albert competed in the bobsleigh for five consecutive Winter Olympics on behalf of Monaco, and was their flag bearer at the 1988, 1994, and 1998 Olympics. He is also a judo black belt.
He became Prince of Monaco when his father died in 2005.
Marriage:
Prior to his marriage his status as a bachelor was a hot topic of discussion. He was known to date well-known fashion models and actresses, however at age 53 had never married. It was rumored that Albert was gay, something he expressed great frustration with in the press. In 2006 he attended the opening ceremony of the Torino Olympics with South African swimmer Charlene Wittstock. They were engaged in 2010, and married in 2011.
There are rumors that Charlene tried to flee the country the day before their wedding. It is reported that the future bride, after discovering Albert may have fathered yet another child during their relationship, attempted to flee as many as three times before their wedding, however was always intercepted at the airport. It is also said she attempted to seek refuge at the South African embassy, and that officials in Monaco ended up hiding her passport so she could not leave the country.
Moreover, during their wedding, Charlene openly cried at parts, and Prince Albert was caught on camera begging her to kiss him. Honestly, she looked pretty miserable the whole time. The palace has denied all of these claims.
During their honeymoon, they stayed in separate hotels
Here's everything you ever needed to know about their wedding
Watch it
Prince Albert is passionate about the environment and an avid sportsman. Prince Albert speaks French, English, German, and Italian. He speaks English with basically no accent thanks to his American mother.
Illegitimate Children
In 2005, the day before Prince Rainier died, Albert publicly acknowledged he had fathered a son out of wedlock. In 2006, he confirmed he had also fathered a daughter. These children were barred from the line of inheritance because of a 2002 constitutional amendment requiring an heir’s parents to be married.
Alexandre (b. 2003)
Alexandre’s mother (Nicole Coste) was a flight attendant for Air France and met Prince Albert when he was a passenger on a flight. He asked for her number, the beginning of a years-long affair. The relationship ended at the insistence of Prince Rainier. Albert visited Alexandre and Nicole often, however when he refused to acknowledge Alexandre publicly, Nicole sold an interview and pictures to the media. Albert was in mourning for his father and made no public comment, but later did acknowledge paternity. Alexandre and Nicole live in France at an estate given to them by Albert.
Jazmin (b. 1992)
Jazmin’s mother, Tamara, met Albert while working as a waitress. Albert knew of Jazmin and visited her, however did not acknowledge her publicly until she was in high school to protect her identity. In 2006 the French magazine Voici published photographs of Jazmin and her mother on a visit to Monaco, outing her as Albert’s daughter. She has attended events with Albert and Charlene, and is listed as a sponsor for her father’s royal foundation.
An interview with Jazmin
Princess Charlene (b. 1978)
Born in Zimbabwe, Charlene’s family relocated to South Africa in 1989. She represented South Africa at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, finished fifth in the 4x100 meter relay.
Albert and Charlene met at the Mare Nostrum swimming competition in Monaco in 2000, however were not seen together until 2006.
Charlene converted to Roman Catholicism for her wedding, and has learned French and Monegasque after her move to Monaco. She is an ambassador for the Special Olympics, patron of the South African Red Cross, and is passionate about sport.
In recent news, she completed “the crossing” water bike challenge, a 180 kilometer water bike race for charity.
An interview with Charlene and Albert on the 1st birthday of their twins
Albert and Charlene have 2 children:
Hereditary Prince Jacques *twin* (b. 2014)
Princess Gabriella *twin* (b. 2014)
Gabriella was born 2 minutes before her brother, however because of the constitution her brother will inherit the throne. They are super sweet together and you see them at events often.
Princess Caroline of Hanover (b. 1957)
Caroline is the eldest child of Rainier and Grace Kelly, however because of the constitution her brother, Albert, sits on the throne of Monaco. She served as de facto first lady of Monaco until the marriage of Albert and Charlene.
Until the birth of her niece and nephew she was heir presumptive to the throne, although she had only held that title since 2005 after the change of the constitution to include female heirs.
Caroline received her French baccalaureat in 1974, and received a degree in Philosophy from Sorbonne University. She is fluent in French, English, Spanish, German, and Italian. Her hobbies include horseback riding, swimming, and skiing.
Marriages:
Married Phillippe, a Parisian banker, in 1978. The couple divorced in 1980 with no children.
Married Stefano in 1983, the sportsman heir to an Italian industrial fortune. The two had to marry in a civil ceremony rather than a religious ceremony because Caroline, a Catholic, was divorced. Caroline was 3 months pregnant at the time of their wedding.
They have three children:
  1. Andrea Casiraghi (1984)
  1. Charlotte Casiraghi (1986)
  1. Pierre Casiraghi (b. 1987)
Note: The Casiraghi’s are all very beautiful and very fashionable but I don’t want to go much into them here because they are so far down the line of succession. They’re fun to follow for their fashion if you have the time to check them out.
Married Ernst August, a Prince, in 1999. They have one daughter, Princess Alexandra.
Caroline is thus a Princess twice-over, through her family and through her husband. She and Ernst August have been separated since 2009 however are still legally married, thus she retains the title of Princess Caroline of Hanover.
Read about all of her weddings here
See her speaking in English around 12:00 here
Princess Stephanie (b. 1965)
Stephanie was in the vehicle with her mother when Grace died. She suffered a fracture of the neck.
She has studied classical dance and piano, and competed in gymnastics and horse riding. She interned at Christian Dior and debuted as a model in 1984. She has a swimwear and perfume line, and owns cafes and stores in both Monaco and Barcelona. She also has sold more than 2 million copies of her song, Ouragan, and sold 1.5M copies of her album Besoin. She recorded “In the Closet” with Michael Jackson, however is listed as “mystery girl” in the credits.
Marriages/Relationships:
Stephanie married her former body guard, Daniel Ducruet, in 1995. When Rainier learned of their relationship Daniel was not only still his employee, but had a pregnant girlfriend too. Stephanie gave birth to their two children “out of wedlock” because Rainier refused to grant permission for them to marry, however eventually relented. The two divorced a year later after Ducruet was photographed naked with a stripper.

They have two children:
  1. Louis (b. 1992)
  1. Pauline (b. 1994)

Stephanie and Jean never married, however have a child together. He was Rainier’s Head of Security. She did not identify him on the birth certificate and it was not confirmed that he was Camille’s father until she confirmed it herself on her Instagram.
More about Jean

Stephanie met elephant trainer (yeah, you read that right) when she presented him with the award for “best animal tamer” at the Monaco Circus Festival in 1997. Franco, a decade older than Stephanie, was married with two children at the time. Franco left his family for Stephanie, moving her and her three children into his circus caravan in Zurich. Marrying in 2001, their relationship lasted 18 months until their divorce.
An interview with Stephanie in English in 1990
Why is he a Prince and not a King?
From vogue:
It goes back deep into the history of Monaco. Monaco has always been a tiny nation, and, for protection, allied itself with (or, at some points, was flat-out annexed by) big powerful countries, with big powerful rulers—aka kingdoms, or, a nation ruled by a king or queen. So Monaco’s rulers styled themselves as prince and princess. That, by definition, made the nation a principality, or one ruled by prince or princess.
Regardless, Albert actually plays a bigger role in the day to day operations of the country than most of his European peers. Legislative power is divided between the Prince who initiates the laws, and the National Council who votes on them. Executive power is retained by the Prince, and he has full judiciary powers.

I think the Ocean Tiara, gifted to Charlene for her wedding, is particularly interesting. You either love it or you hate it.

Geoguessr World Rankings - Preliminary Round #3

Geoguessr World Rankings - Preliminary Round #3
Thank you again for participating in the second preliminary round of the Geoguessr World Rankings. We saw quite a bit new joiners and we saw some of the players of the first round not participating this time. As a result, the rankings are very different from the first week, and the expectation is that this will continue to happen also in the upcoming weeks. Players who participate in all seeds have a higher chance of ending up higher in the rankings of course.
The 2nd Preliminary round took place in the Liberation Tower in Kuwait City. Two new categories were introduced with Difficulty Level 4 and our Difficulty Level 3 Country Streaks. These will continue to be part of these competitions.
In Difficulty Level 2 player u/Tall_ImpalaL49 managed to secure his second win in as many weeks, this time on An Urban World. We also saw u/Sixtet grabbing his second win in the Difficulty Level 3 competition, this time on the I Saw The Sign Map, well done to him. New player u/Grymmwulf managed to win the remaining two seeds in the previously mentioned new categories. A great score in Difficulty Level 4 on the World Cities map and an impressive country streak of 25 showed that he will be a player to keep an eye on, also in the future.
It may be clear that the same three players are leading the World Rankings in those specific categories. In the overall rankings we can see Sixtet currently being on top with already 868 points scored so far. The current Top 10 is looking like this:

Full standings, as well as standings per category can be found here.
The further we get into the rankings, the more will be shown here, including top performers per category. On the second sheet you can find the schedule, as well as previous results. New categories can still be added at a later stage. Please submit your map suggestions, as well as locations and tournament names for future events. This has to become a list by the community for the community.

For Preliminary Week 3 we'll head to the Canadian city of Winnipeg. In the Club Regent Casino, we will play the "Regent Casino Streaks and More Tournament".
This tournament contains of the same four categories as in Kuwait, however this time there will be more country streak seeds, so that there will be a bit more diversity in the rankings there. It will work similar to u/olsnes Streak Stacker format, where all scores of all five seeds are counted together.

The deadline for the seeds is as usual, Sunday 8PM Central European Time (CET).

Geoguessr World Rankings - Preliminary Round #3 (Results)

Geoguessr World Rankings - Preliminary Round #3 (Results)
Hi everybody,
We've had a very interesting week in the Club Regent Casino in Winnipeg with some very interesting and challenging seeds.
Difficulty Level 2 was played on the 100 largest cities of Canada map and we recorded two perfect scores. u/DoubleNN7 and u/ben14241 were just 14 meters, or 15.3 yards apart in distances to the actual spots. Doublen7 secured the win in this tight encounter. In total 10 players managed to score over 24.000 points in this seed.
https://preview.redd.it/mlyi1o916tw51.png?width=655&format=png&auto=webp&s=e831114f4628164ab4d96bb3c87cb9c9d5e05fcc
For Difficulty Level 3 the players had to deal with Rural Canada and that turned out to be a massive challenge. The point differences here were massive, with the player in 10th place only being able to score 8.046 points. It was u/Grymmwulf who picked up another win in this seed with an impressive score of 19.369 points. u/dezzy_078 and Duncolm completed the top 3 at a respectful distance.

https://preview.redd.it/5a5bjfk87tw51.png?width=655&format=png&auto=webp&s=82a7a762aaa9a831bcde1567894821d9c3512f36
That u/Grymmwulf is on fire can no longer be a surprise to anyone following the rankings. Also in the Difficulty Level 4 seed he picked up the win. On this Worldwide Stadiums and Other Sports Venues map he managed to score at least 2.500 points more than anyone else. The top 3 was completed by JoanaRBR and u/MtheBassman, well done to them as well.

https://preview.redd.it/i178ubrd8tw51.png?width=644&format=png&auto=webp&s=111f6f228a07ac980782450282a11ddb4b883ae8
What was left were the country streaks. The players had to go through five seeds and the scores of each seeds would be counted together into a final score. JoanaRBR managed to record the highest streak of all, 23 countries in seed 2. It was however just enough to secure the 3rd spot in the five seeds combined. Second place here was for u/MtheBassman, with surprise surprise, u/Grymmwulf claiming the first spot with in total 64 countries correctly guessed.
Other Top-10 finishers were u/deep-thot, u/lauMothra, 808DADDY, AI_GUESSR, VAJIK91713, AJPM as well as LENN THE MAN.

https://preview.redd.it/y1nniwi1ftw51.png?width=511&format=png&auto=webp&s=79a7cc057813d0b7b8402d40f96402a6ca218611
What does that mean for the World Rankings in this preliminary season?
The biggest difference in the top 10 for the Difficulty Level 2 World Rankings is that u/Max_FI did not participate this week and dropped from 6th place to 23rd. A weaker score for u/Tall_ImpalaL49 saw him lose the top spot to myself. u/lauMothra, AJPM and u/stealthisnick got their spot in the top 5 replacing u/Calamityx7, u/deep-thot and u/Sixtet.
https://preview.redd.it/t71p3ajgftw51.png?width=575&format=png&auto=webp&s=03accf0b259c85e3ca7c1299e1082b19431aa11e

u/Sixtet still leads the Difficulty Level 3 rankings however. Here we saw Vajik91713 dropping two places to 4th. Just one new player in the top 5 here with u/stealthisnick taking over from u/ben14241. u/MakkDo, AJPM and Cheesorlees are new into the top 10 here.
https://preview.redd.it/zm5myypagtw51.png?width=577&format=png&auto=webp&s=3321d6b6a1f98b591b467bae9cb679b785c6d474
u/Grymmwulf remains the leader in the Difficulty Level 4 rankings. u/deep-thot was able to keep the 2nd spot despite the rising of u/Nakiroh, u/MrBlue_GG and u/MTheBassman who complete the top 5. Also a big shoutout to Cheesorlees, u/Tall_ImpalaL49 and JoanaRBR who entered the top 10 here.
https://preview.redd.it/969vw130htw51.png?width=576&format=png&auto=webp&s=e02e3198b4459161559ae193f3a30581a4e1b694
Lots of new players in the Top 10 in the country rankings, which was to be expected after playing five seeds this week. u/Grymmwulf is in the lead here of course, followed by u/lauMothra who jumped to the 2nd spot. Lenn The Man kept his 3rd place ahead of u/MTheBassman and JoanaRBR.
https://preview.redd.it/465uyasshtw51.png?width=575&format=png&auto=webp&s=ad46fec0daa15a8d9bc39a37c573dcb4f0e331eb
In the overall rankings we can see that last week's leader u/Sixtet dropped to 7th place. This gave me the chance to jump up to the lead without picking up an individual win yet. The consistency of playing all seeds in combination with fairly high finishing positions got me there. We will see how long I will be able to keep this up with some strong players coming up. u/Grymmwulf is yet only in 21st place.
The strong performances of u/lauMothra gives him the 2nd place and Vajik91713 completes the current top 3. Some strong players are ready to take over though, as u/deep-thot, u/stealthisnick, AJPM, Sixtet, u/Tall_ImpalaL49, Cheesorlees and u/plouky are all not too far behind and all have the abilities to mix up this list completely next week.

Casinos, the elderly and Winnipeg

So many of my older relatives' and acquaintances' social lives revolve around casinos, VLTs, bingo and such. It's seldom all 3, but usually at least 1.
Rich or poor, big families or single & lonely, the common denominator for so many retirees is gambling.
I don't get it. I'm in my 30s and I can't think of anyone around my age who goes to the casino on a regular basis. Yet with the over 65 crowd, at least in my extended family and circle of acquaintances, so many of them do.
What is it about the casino that draws the elderly like moths to a flame? Of all the things they could be doing in their retirement, sitting there at Club Regent or McPhillips Station or some dingy hotel VLT saloon is one of the most depressing things imaginable.

Who’s Live Anyway

I know it’s a long shot.. but I’m looking for two tickets together for the Who’s Live Anyway show at the club regent casino. Wanted to get tickets for my bf as a surprise, as soon as I heard about it they were sold down to just single seats left..

Fictional Winnipeg Metro

Fictional Winnipeg Metro
Winnipeg has over 700,000 unlucky people living within it's limits. For a city of it's size, it surprisingly lacks a decent mass transit system. Sure, BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) is a start, but it's too little, too late. Much of the roads in Winnipeg are simply too small to handle more buses, and there just isn't the space to build dedicated bus lanes in much of the city. I think a metro system would be the best was to go. This is obviously however quite unrealistic as our city definitely couldn't afford, deal with, or complete the project within budget. If this were to go through, the system would face constant flooding, heating/air conditioning issues, and heavy opposition. I've seen a few of these maps around and decided to weigh in my opinion. Hope you like it.
Here's a line overview: Central Line: This route is the longest of the four with 26 stations. The line starts at the Club Regent Casino vaguely following Nairn at Cut 'n Cover level to St Boniface where it crosses the Red River under that Restaurant Bridge Which No One Knows the Name Of. Here, the line turns to a deep level system connecting to Union Station. The line then connects City Place, Colony (Portage Place/U of W) and Vimy Ridge Park before returning to Cut 'n Cover level. At Polo Park, the route splits. Alternating trains could take passengers either to the Airport via St. James, or UniCity following the Portage. The Downs station would only be used on special event days such as the Red River Ex.
The River Line:
This route follows the Red River from the U of M to Kildonan Park. It runs at Cut 'n Cover level along University Crescent and Pembina. Windermere would serve as a major hub in the area with connections to the Tuxedo LRT (TRT), and BRT. Another major hub would be at Osborne Junction where you could again transfer to BRT and TRT. Here it would turn deep level, and remain this way until Kildonan. City Place would connect passengers to the Central Line and Winnipeg Square would get people on the Northern Line. A station here would help re-vitalize the Square and Portage & Main. The rest follows Main Street until reaching the Park. This line could easily be extended North to what-ever's up there, and South to St. Norbert.
Northern Line: This route starts at Garden City Centre running at Cut 'n Cover along McPhillips until the Casino. Here it descends to a deep level system and serves HSC, Centennial, and Winnipeg Square. The line could easily be expanded South to a very under-served St Vital.
Tuxedo LRT: This would be a a Light Rail system originating in the new Seasons of Tuxedo, following the current train line and BRT to Union. More than likely, to minimize costs, the current BRT or rail line would be converted to a LRT system as much of the infrastructure is already in place.

FIFA Women's World Cup in Winnipeg - FAQs

I've noticed a lot of repeat questions being asked recently from visitors who are coming to Winnipeg for the FIFA Women's World Cup (June 8-16). Here are the most common questions: I can add to this if anyone has any suggestions.
Where is the stadium?
Investor's Group Field is at the University of Manitoba on the south end of the city.
Where should I stay?
There've been several news stories about how all the hotels in Winnipeg - even the Alt Hotel, which just opened - are booked solid. Sorry.
However, you can try alternatives:
(With suggestions from majikmonkie).
How do I get to the stadium from my hotel?
FIFA put together a guide on transportation options. The first two options are for driving, but I would recommend NOT doing that, especially if you're driving there during afternoon rush hour. Pembina Highway (which is the main route to the stadium from downtown) will probably become a parking lot in the afternoon with all the additional traffic.
However, there are four Park-n-Ride locations:
The Park-n-Ride costs $5 for people over the age of 12. Buses start departing 2 hours before afternoon kickoff. You might want to make a point of catching one of the first couple buses, since Pembina Highway is going to be a nightmare.
A note from werno - DO NOT try parking on the residential streets around the stadium. You will be ticketed and possibly towed.
Beaver Bus and Greyhound will also be operating a downtown hotel shuttle (also $5). Buses start departing 2 hours before afternoon kickoff. You might want to make a point of catching one of the first couple buses, since Pembina Highway is going to be a nightmare. If you're staying downtown, look for a shuttle stop (white circles) near your hotel: https://i.imgur.com/hyFSt9Z.jpg
(With suggestions from majikmonkie).
In not-stadium-specific transit news: Downtown Biz is going to be offering a free trolly to get around downtown. Winnipeg Transit also has free buses that will get you around downtown; #1,2, and 3 are all free all the time. (Thanks to supercantaloupe for the addition.)
I'm coming in from [country]. Do I have to get my money exchanged or will establishments take my US dollars/pounds/pesos/bits?
If you're using your credit card, most places will take a Visa and Mastercard regardless of country of origin. Most credit cards will give you a pretty fair exchange rate. However, you might still want cash for small purchases, bus fares, parking, etc.
Some places might take US dollars, but it will either be at par (which would be a horrible deal for you) or at an unfavourable exchange rate. It's probably a good idea to get your cash exchanged if you plan on carrying cash.
Also, plan on getting handfuls of change back when you pay. Canada has coins for $2 and $1, so after a few transactions you've got a handful of big coins to carry around. Also also, Canada no longer uses the penny, so all cash transactions will be rounded up or down to the nearest $0.05. Debit and credit transactions are still charged to the penny.
(With suggestions from Becau5eRea5on5, kent_eh and tmlrule).
How do I drive to Winnipeg from the US?
(Info via scopar). There are several border crossings between Manitoba and the US, with 3 crossings from Minnesota and 11 from North Dakota. However, all of the border crossings a very small except for the Emerson, MB/Pembina, ND crossing that is at the end of the I-29. This crossing has multiple lanes and is open 24 hours a day. The other border crossings are usually single lanes and have limited hours of operations. You can find information on the border crossings from North Dakota and Minnesota .
US citizens need proof of citizenship to enter Canada: a passport, birth certificate, or citizenship certificate. A passport will make your crossing the least stressful, and will probably make getting back into the US easier as well. The CBSA has information on identification requirements on their website . If you have a criminal record, you may have trouble at the border. This includes a DUI, which will probably prevent you from entering Canada. The US/Canada share access to criminal record databases so they will look it up.
Don't bring firearms or ammo with you. Canada has very different and more restrictive gun laws than the US. There is no constitutional right to bear arms in Canada, so please leave them at home. The CBSA link above has a information on prohibited items. There are also limits on the amount of booze/cigarettes you can bring with you. When crossing the border (both ways), it's always best to be upfront and don't hide anything. If they discover you lied about something, you're more likely to be pulled over and searched. I'd highly suggest doing a search of your car before you hit the road to make sure you don't leave anything unwanted in there.
Where can I get a drink?
(Info via landlubber1976). Legal drinking age is 18. Drinking in public (i.e. outside a restaurant, hotel or private home) isn't recommended and is illegal. We're not Europe. You probably won't get too much hassle, but it might cause someone to call the police on you. Don't drink and drive, please.
Alcohol generally more expensive than the US, by a fair bit.
Most restaurants will be licensed, and some may allow you to bring your own bottle of wine, but unless that bottle means something special to you, it probably isn't worth it after they apply their corkage fee. You can order a bottle of wine with dinner and you can take what you didn't finish home with you. Just make sure it is in the trunk if you're in a car, or at least not accessible.
Is there an official FIFA FanFest in Winnipeg?
Here's the lowdown (thanks to scopar for the info):
Winnipeg Fan Zone
What: Open to the public (free) on June 6 (with a viewing party of Canada’s opening match). Open to FIFA Women’s World Cup™ Winnipeg Stadium ticket-holders on matchdays only.
Where: Winnipeg Stadium (Investors Group Field)
Hours of Operation
What else should we do while we're in Winnipeg?
Well, there's lots to do. Special things happening while you're here:
Anyway, welcome to Winnipeg!

Understanding the Different Types of Cruiseslines

Hello all,
I work with Expedia Cruiseshipcenters as a Cruise Consultant. I thought I'd make this list to help those thinking of booking a first cruise. Feel free to ask me any questions about individual lines.
Types of Cruiselines
Mainstream - Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Costa (Italian line), MSC (Italian line but has North American presence), Fred Olsen (British line), Pullmantur (Spanish line), AIDA (German line)
Mainstream lines cater to a wide variety of price conscious individuals, couples and families. These ships tend to run the gamut in terms of facilities that offer something for everyone. Water slides, silly pool games, Vegas style evening shows, huge casinos, sports activities ranging from bowling to miningolf. You name it they've got it. Perfect cruiselines for families with children but also great for couples just looking for a fun time.
Expect lots of extra fees ranging from alcohol to specialty restaurants, to specialty coffee. Most of these ships are literally designed to filter passengers into monetization areas such as the casino, shops, spa, bars etc. Complaints of "Nickle and diming" are frequent.
Different mainstream lines offer a different flavor of experience. Carnival offers a VERY price conscious product. Norwegian is famous for dining options and freestyle (i.e. Relaxed clothing) cruises. MSC let's kids under age 12 sail free and feels very European/Italian when on board. RCCL has some of the biggest ships at sea and is huge on sports activities. Costa sails mostly European itineraries.
The majority of new builds are HUGE. 4000 plus passengers or worse (or better depending on your perspective)
Service ratios operate at approx 3:1 - three passengers for every one crew member.
Typically cabins can be snagged at incredible rates. These cruiselines offer great value on the dollar. Mainstream cruise lines also offer some of the most lavish suites at sea if money is no object.
Premium - Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, P & O (British line)
Premium cruiselines tend to attract a slightly more older and affluent crowd. Relaxation is the name of the game, think country club casual but one targeting a still price conscious customer. You won't find water slides and rock climbing walls on these cruise lines but you will find upscale dining options (even in the complimentary dining areas), and activities that tend to be more sedate (wine tastings, trivia, bingo, high tea, bridge, lectures). While traditionally these cruises attracted an older crowd, the times are a changing. One may even argue that the line between premium and mainstream are blurring in the last few years. Children club offerings are expanding on these lines and it's common nowadays to see families on shorter 7 day Caribbean sailings. Pricing on these lines used to come at a premium but nowadays you can find comparable rates on some of the mainstream lines offerings. Premium cruise lines also suffer from the nickel and diming complaints heard on mainstream lines ... monetization is a big thing on these ships just like mainstream lines. Also like the mainstream lines these ships (the newest ones) are huge with upwards of 4000 passengers on the largest. The majority of these fleets do have decent mid sized options.
Service ratios run at around 2:1 - two passenger per every crew member
Premium Plus/Deluxe - Oceania, Azamara, Viking
These cruiselines offer a truly upscale experience. Smaller ships ranging from 100 - 700 passengers max with usually at least a 1:2 passenger to crew ratio -- one passenger for every two crew.
Gourmet food, all included, usually even the Specialty restaurants as well. Expect ships to feel practically empty ... the passenger space ratios are almost double mainstream and premium cruise lines. Cabins are nice but comparable to mainstream lines. Different premium plus cruise lines offer different inclusions. One might offer wine with dinner, another might offer free airfare, yet another might throw in a free excursion. Most of these ships offer long day in port far longer than mainstream lines.
Service levels on these lines are intense and expect itineraries that have ports massive mainstream cruise lines cannot get to.
Edit: Viking really is a category of its own somewhere between Premium Plus and Luxury.
Luxury - Seabourn, Silverseas, Regent Seven Seas, Crystal, Sea Dream, Ponant (French line), Hapag-Lloyd (German line)
$$$$$$$$. Big bucks. All inclusive (except for Hapag-Lloyd which you need to be rich to sail on). Offer the most inclusions of all cruiselines. All alcoholic beverages. Often all excursions. Transport to town from port. Butler service. Some include air. Gourmet food that is unbelievable. Most ships only offer suites (the class above balcony).
These ships offer an intimate experience where staff cater to whims and desires you didn't even realize you had. Most ships are small passenger wise 300 - 700 passengers but often are as large space wise as mid sized mainstream cruise ships that would have triple the passengers.
Service ratios as high as 1:2 - one passenger for every two crew.
Ship in a Ship - MSC The Yacht Club, Norwegian Cruise Line The Haven
These restricted enclaves offer a luxury cruise experience on mainstream cruise lines. Essentially parts of a mainstream cruise ship are restricted to passengers via key card access who have paid a (much) higher fare for access. Top of the line cabins with premium linens and toiletries, private restaurant with gourmet food offerings, private pool, private sundeck, butler service and other inclusions such as Thermal Suite access (MSC), free newspaper of choice, complimentary alcohol (MSC) etc. Much higher crew to passenger ratios, heightened service.
Why choose ship in a ship versus premium plus or luxury? Mainstream ships tend to offer far better facilities for families and activities for kids/teenagers. Going the ship in a ship route allows parents to get a luxury experience while still keeping their children happy. Even for those without kids, mainstream cruise ships are often huge with lots of action that premium plus and luxury lines cannot match. Ship in a ship offers the best of both worlds.
Specialty - Cunard (Transatlantic), Disney, Windstar, Club Med, Paul Gauginon, Voyages to Antiquity
Cunard is the only "dedicated" Transatlantic passenger line and the QM2 the only passenger "liner" (not a cruise ship in terms of ship design). Very formal culture. Expect to dress up (bring a few suits). Has class system on board .. but even the lowest class offers a spectacular cruise.
Disney - I feel Disney is a different experience from the other lines due to the character tie ins. If I was to rank service I'd say Disney is a blend between premium and premium plus. Still mega ships like mainstream and premium lines but service ratios are VERY VERY good. Lots of kids (obviously). Expect to pay a lot for the Disney name ... but a Disney cruise does offer a lot to families.
Windstar is all about small ship cruising. Ships carry 100 - 300 passengers on their motorized sailboat yachts and up to 200 on their yachts. Typically will spend a week hitting ports in one country (British Virgin Islands for example). Long port days (7 am - 11 pm for example). All food is made from local port ingredients. A very unique experience.
Paul Gauguin is a specialty line that focuses on Tahiti and South Pacific cruises. This cruise line's ship has been specially built to be able to get into places normal cruise ships can't reach. In terms of service, closer to the premium plus category.
Club Med offers that Club Med experience on the Club Med 2. Same type of motorized sailboat Yacht as Windstar.
Voyages to Antiquity offers a Mediterranean or Asian cruise that has a huge focus on cultural excursions. Premium plus level service.

Fenced in Dog Parks

I recently moved back to Winnipeg and I'm looking for fenced in Dog parks for my 2 German Shepard Mixes. The only one I've found fully fenced in is near Club Regent Casino.
Thanks!

What would an LSC Monopoly board look like?

You can get a custom monopoly board done, not cheap at £80. I've got no intention of getting one, but was curious as to what an LSC monopoly board would look like. e.g. replace Old Kent Road with Rockaoke @ The AAA.
Actually if this has massive interest we could hold a raffle. 16 people put in £5, draw the name out a hat at the next pub crawl, winner gets the board. This happened at another social club I erratically go to.
https://www.mymonopoly.com/_dynamic/downloads/Board-Planner.pdf
The streets from cheap to posh are :
Colour Traditional Property Name LSC Line 1 (13 char) LSC Line 2 (13 Char)
Brown Old Kent Road Yell Bryan
Brown Whitechapel Road Yell Horse
Station Kings Cross Station East London Pub Crawl
L. Blue The Angel Islington Pulling a Troller

L. Blue Pentonville Road
Purple Whitehall Crobar
Purple Pall Mall 12 Bar

Orange Bow Street The Reddit House

Suggestions?
EDIT I'm inserting names as they come up. Everything can be changed, just prompts a few more ideas hopefully.
No exclamation marks allowed. And no swear words. So not 100% certain "The Cock" will pass. Bryan and Horse don't work without an exclamation mark :(

Arc 3 Readthrough

Notes:
3.1) Taylor runs every morning and runs more or exercises in the afternoon. No rest days? Over training?
She started running in February, three and a half months ago. She lost a lot of fat.
The Docks and the Boardwalk are East.
Lord Street is a block from the Boardwalk. It has a bridge over it.
Brian changes his clothing to look richer or poorer.
Taylor hid her money in the basement cubbyhole with her costume.
Taylor has stitches in her arm.
Rachel spent 10 years in foster care. She was psychologically damaged and her powers made it worse.
Taylor can control crabs, worms, or anything with a simple brain.
Brian takes classes online and has an apartment. Regent and Rachel aren't in school. Lisa already graduated by cheating with her power.
Taylor got a key to the hideout.
She spent a week in the hospital in January.
There are about 40 students in Mrs. Knotts' computer class.
Sophia has a ponytail down her back.
3.2) Erase, Extinguish, Eradicate (or any triple E word) is an E88 tattoo.

Brian calls the heroes the "good guys." Implicitly calling himself a bad guy?
Only Lisa knows who the boss is. She won't tell anyone. He asks them to do jobs.
3.3) The average haul on a bank robbery is $20,000. It's less than most of the Undersiders' jobs. Brockton Bay's bank likely keeps $12-16k on account of all the villains.
There are 3 superhero teams in BB, and about a dozen solo heroes.
Being on the front page of the newspaper is good for reputation.
The Undersiders robbed a casino a few weeks ago.
The Protectorate will be at an event Thursday out of town.
Bay Central is the biggest bank in BB. It's a mile away from Arcacia High where the Wards go to school.
New Wave won't go into Wards territory.
There are 6-7 Wards.
The boss wants he robbery done at a specific time, Thursday after noon, and is willing to pay extra.
Bay Central is a cash distribution hub for the county.
Armored cars have Protectorate or Ward member ride along or fly overhead.
Aegis is the leader of the Wards. He has the Alexandria package: flight, super strength, and invincibility.
He has a variation where he has no weak points, just lots of redundancies and reinforcements. He can sense light on his skin. He can use adrenaline for hours and doesn't worry about hurting himself. Can only be distracted or trapped.
Clockblocker pauses time for who or whatever he touches for 30 seconds to 10 minutes, he doesn't know how long.
People frozen can't be hurt or moved. This can be used to make invincible barriers.
Capes that got their powers young are more powerful.
Vista is 12 and got her powers young. She reshapes space. Can manipulate buildings, roads, etc.
The Manton effect limits powers. It keeps powers from affecting living things, unless the only affect living things.
Narwhal is an exception and can cut people in half with force fields. She and other capes who can get around the ME are exceptionally powerful.
No one knows where powers come from or why they have restrictions.

Gallant is Glory Girl's boyfriend. Pretends to be a Tinker and wears armor. Uses blasts of light to manipulate emotions.
Shadow Stalker is bloodthirsty. Grue is her nemesis, and she pursues him.
She was a solo hero until she almost killed someone, and was forced to join the Wards.
Uses crossbows, but has to use non lethal ammo now. She still doesn't, and used a real arrow on Brian. Can he report her?
She turns lightweight and invisible, and can pass through walls. She still shoots solid arrows, though.
Brian's power dampens hers.

Media is traded through the hole.
Courts don't unmask capes who are arrested.
The Northern end of Brockton Bay used to have industry.
There used to be a ferry to the docks. Now it's a half hour to an hour's drive to the North. The ferry is still there, it just doesn't run.
The Protectorate HQ is an old oil rig. It has a forcefield
Taylor called the PHQ receptionist to meet Armsmaster at the ferry.
3.5) Armsmaster has a lie detector in his helmet.
Velocity, Dauntless, Battery, and Assault are the other members of the Protectorate.
Armsmaster knows Tattletale can spy on what they're saying.
The Undersiders has 2 murderers on the team.
Armsmaster had his halberd and armor seized and investigated because Lung was poisoned by Taylor.
The tranquilizers Armsmaster used made Lung less effective at resisting the poisons.
Taylor decided to give the Undersiders info to Miss Militia because Armsmaster annoyed her.
3.6) Lisa can drive a van.
Villains don't get their identities revealed because it's treated as a game of cops and robbers.
90% of villains are just having fun.
Some are actually crazy like Lung, Oni Lee, Heartbreaker, and Bitch.
Some are monsters like the Slaughterhouse Nine, Nilbog, and the Endbringers.
Superhero teams are treated like sports teams, with merchandising and fans. They need villains to fight.
There's a water crisis and wars.
Insurance covers property damage, theft, and civilian injuries.
Lung is going to the Birdcage, Uber isn't because he's harmless.
Harmless villains are put in regular jail cells so they can break out to be caught again. However, if they get 3 strikes they're sent to the Birdcage as well.
Taylor's knife is 6 inches long. It's strong enough to be used as a crowbar.
A cape can cross the line by attacking another cape's family or raping someone. Truces will be called and everyone will band together to take down the rule breaker. The same happens with the Endbringers.
The Endbringers are a morbid subject.
Tattletale is afraid of Lung.
The Brockton Bay Central Bank is 6 stories tall.
Brian can drive a van.
It's raining during the bank robbery.
3.7) Brian's visor has vents at the edges to direct the darkness to the sides so his skull mask can be seen.
He can see through his own darkness. His power can alter sound.
Taylor can summon tens of thousands of bugs in minutes.
Lisa has an image of an eye on her costume.

A teenager with freckled and curly brown hair glared at her.
3.8) Brutus was a Rottweiler.
The boss wants deeds, liens, insurance forms, mortgages, and loan information.
Brutus has a prehensile tail when powered by Bitch.
Angelica is the smallest dog, has one eye.
Bitch is easily insulted.
The Undersiders stole $41,800.

Browbeat is muscular with a black costume and a mask with a crystal on it.
He uses telekinesis at point blank range and can manipulate his body to heal it or bulk up.
Used to be a solo hero. Beaten by Regent and Bitch, recently joined the Wards.
One more hero is on the roof.
Armsmaster might have tipped off the Wards.
3.9) Bitch is riding Judas.
Aegis and Clockblocker switched costumes.
Taylor can sense Grue's darkness generation with her bugs.
Taylor keeps the enemy on the defensive as Brian taught her.
3.10) Vista's power can make rain flow sideways.
Grue punches Vista in the head, knocking her out.
Kid Win can manifest a 15 foot long levitating laser turret.
Aegis keeps flash bang grenades on him.
3.11) Taylor's baton is 18 inches long.
Amy Dallon aka Panacea can interfere with Taylor's power, free bugs from her control, give her headaches, and make her think her bugs are elsewhere.
Panacea could give someone a heart attack or cancer if she touched their skin.
The Protectorate was at Augustus Country Club.
Panacea can make someone fat or make everything they eat taste like bile.

Universities have a course called Parahumans 101.
Legend can shoot lasers that turn corners.
Kaiser can create metal from nothing.
Panacea altered the spiders to send out false information.
The Simurgh is a telepath and an Endbringer.
Tattletale hates when people call her stupid.

11 years ago, the older members of New Wave plus Fleur and Lightstar used to be called the Brockton Bay Brigade.
This was 5 years after capes started becoming populous.
The BBB sent a villain to the Birdcage.
Amy was his daughter.
She has another secret.
The Birdcage is a prison with no communication to the outside world.
The worst villains have been sent there, yet none have managed to escape.
Tattletale is drained by her power.

Tinkers put tracking devices into their gear.
Grue's darkness fades after about 20 minutes.
The money was left in a storage locker near the Docks.

There are offices, an armory, a training area, the Wards HQ, and a parking lot with containment vans.
Director Piggot is fat with short hair. Fat as in Pig?
Gallant invited Glory Girl to the bank robbery without permission from Piggot.
The Wards caused tens of thousands of dollars of damage in the bank fight. The Wards have to pay for it.
Gallant is rich.

The perception of capes is important.
Class A threats are major.
The PRT elevator is Tinker designed.
The Wards HQ requires a retina scan.
The computer has camera feeds of various parts of the city.

Purity creates solid light beams strong enough to destroy buses and brick walls.
Coil is taller than Grue but extremely skinny. He wears a full body black costume with a white snake on it.
He's a strategist. He controls half of Downtown with squads of ex military minions in high end gear. He's the only one in his organization with powers.
Faultline is in her 20s with a black ponytail. Her costume is a dress with armor.
Newter has orange skin, blue eyes, red hair, and a 5 foot long prehensile tail. Has a "u" tattoo on his chest.
Gregor the Snail is obese and hairless with white skin covered in snail shells. Has a "u" tattoo on his arm.

Spitfire wears a red and black costume with a gas mask.
Faultline has a feud with Tattletale as they try to outsmart each other.
Faultline's crew are mercenaries who will take any job that doesn't involve murder. They've only failed at one or 2 jobs.
Faultline can find the hidden strengths in the people that work for her.
The Undersiders haven't failed at any jobs. That's important.
Faultline's crew has done 3 times as many jobs as the Undersiders.
Skidmark is black with chapped lips and gross teeth.
He's a drug dealer and addict.
He doesn't have the respect of other villains.
His subordinates are Moist and Squealer.
Kaiser speaks in a calm voice.
The Undersiders have respect because of the bank robbery and for beating Lung.
Skidmark is cowardly and only holds territory no one cares about.
The waitress at Somer's Rock is deaf.
The Travelers aren't local to BB. They all wear red and black costumes.
Trickster wears a black costume with a red mask and top hat. Looks like Baron Samedi.
His subordinates are a girl with a sun on her costume, a guy in armor with a square mask, and a four armed hairless gorilla.
The rules of neutral ground meetings are no fighting, no using powers, and no taunting people. Breaking rules causes everyone to attack the rule breakers.
Coil has a smooth voice.
The ABB has killed 35 people and hospitalized over 100.
The police and military are patrolling BB.
Being reckless is looked down on by villains because it brings the military and more heroes to the area.
Bakuda has over 300 minions with bombs implanted in their heads.
If she dies, all her bombs go off.
The video of the Undersiders escaping Bakuda is good for their reputation. So is pretending that they were unharmed.
Villains are capable of calling a truce, both with each other and with the police and military, to fight a bigger threat.
Faultline would work for anyone who pays her rates, even the ABB.
Coil talked to Faultline after the meeting.
Despite the truce, the villains are all plotting against each other.
5.2) Hookwolf is blonde with blue eyes and wears a metal wolf mask. He has a wolf and swastika tattoo on one arm and an E88 tattoo on the other arm. He wears only jeans and a belt with the wolf and swastika symbol on it.
His power makes metal sprout from his skin. Similar to Kaiser?
The Birdcage is in British Columbia.
Hookwolf is a murderer who escaped while being transported to the Birdcage twice.
He has a feud with Bitch since she attacked his dog fighting ring. Tattletale and Grue didn't know.
Only heroes call Bitch Hellhound.
Kaiser, Coil, Faultline, and Trickster lead their teams, while Grue only leads his team when it's necessary. The other villains would lose respect for him if they found out.
E88 attacks non whites and gays.
Hookwolf was out of town recently.
Insulting a villain requires money or blood as payment.
Skidmark is reckless and would start a fight in neutral territory.
Grue is stronger than Bitch.
Bitch not telling Grue about her actions made him look weak at the meeting.
Trickster smokes.
Bitch never apologizes.
Regent's power kickback can last for weeks.
Taylor still plans to turn the Undersiders in.
5.3) Weymouth shopping center is in BB.
Civilians have to be home at 6PM under the curfew. Stores close at 5:30.
Taylor talks about a duality between her and Skitter.
Battery and Shadow Stalker are protecting the mall with soldiers. Both are attractive but also controversial.
Bakuda's bombings have caused sales at the stores to try to counterbalance people's fear.
Manpower from New Wave was protecting the mall earlier.
Battery was head of the Wards a few years ago, and graduated to the Protectorate soon after. She's about 22.
The Protectorate changes the graduation dates to protect capes real ages and identities.
Battery's power lets her charge up by standing still in exchange for enhanced speed, strength, and electromagnetic powers.
Her costume is white, grey, and blue.
People speculate that her teammate Assault is her boyfriend, brother, or even both.
Shadow Stalker can turn into a smoky form and walk through walls.
She used to be a vigilante, and joined the Wards rather than go to jail.
She's supposed to only use nonlethal weapons but does anyway.
Her costume is grey with a black metal mask.
She's in her teens, about as tall as Taylor.
Battery is about 2 inches taller than Taylor.
Alan Barnes knows Danny. He's Emma's dad and has red hair.
Dockworkers have work with reconstruction and cleanup.
Mayoral elections are in the summer, city council elections are in the fall.
The current government doesn't want to reopen the ferry.
Alan is a lawyer.
One of Bakuda's bombs can turn people to glass.
Shadow Stalker has brown eyes.
Taylor tells her dad that Emma is the the bully.
5.4) Alan is tall and wide with a loud voice.
Emma has big tits. Catty Taylor points this out.
Madison's mom is small like her. Her parents are young.
Sophia showed up to the meeting with a blonde woman who was definitely not her mom.
Mrs. Knott is Taylor's homeroom teacher.
The principal is a skinny woman with a blonde bowl cut. She doesn't recognize Taylor.
The bullies full names are Emma Barnes, Madison Clements, and Sophia Hess.
Sophia is on the track and field team. She has gotten detention several times.
September 8th was Taylor's first day at school.
Mr. Quinlan is the math teacher.
There are gangs weapons, and drugs at the school. Some students have been badly injured.
Arcacia High is a good school with no gangs or drugs.
Sophia is one of the best runners in track and field.
Emma's dad is as means as she is.
Taylor's bugs react to her stress by approaching her.
Danny has a friend in the media.
Alan is a divorce attorney.
Lisa answers phone calls on the first ring.
Bitch is going to fight the ABB with members of the Travelers, Faultline's Crew, and Empire 88.
It's a 20 minute bus ride from Winslow High to the Undersiders base.
5.5) Coil proposed the idea of mixing and matching the groups so they couldn't betray each other.
Undersiders code: The first letter of a member's name, to be responded to with the last to make sure you aren't being held hostage. Then a green, yellow, or orange object to indicate the level of danger you're in.
Tattletale and Regent are with Faultline, Trickster, and the shapeshifter from the Travelers, as well as E88 members and Coil's soldiers.
Taylor's costume has a zipper.
Bitch only respects people who don't show weakness.
Skitter's power usually has a range of 2 blocks. On this day it's 3 and a half.
Skitter is being dropped off Northwest of the Undersiders base.
Bitch's power creates mass out of nothing.
Taylor's power also seems to rely on energy with no source.
Skidmark and the other Merchants had their base in an abandoned tourist shop that looked like a lighthouse. The ABB forced them out.
Bitch's dogs are the size of ponies.
Their group includes Kaiser, Fenja and Menja, the sun girl from the Travelers, Newter, and Labyrinth.
Newter can cling to walls.
He has blue hair and wraps around his hands and feet.
Coil's men have kevlar armor, baclavas, visors, and assault rifles. One has another rifle and the other has a grenade launcher.
Unlike everyone else, Skitter doesn't have a watch.
The attack starts at 4:48PM.
Labyrinth wasn't startled by Bitch's dogs. The normally calm Kaiser was.
5.6) Sundancer is the girl from the Travelers.
She thought the Undersiders were called the Outsiders.
She describes her group as intense, violent, and lonely. They have drama that makes hanging out not a fun time.
They rarely stay in one place for more than a week.
Taylor moved twice as a kid.
Newter has a prehensile tail. His eyes are solid blue with horizontal black pupils.
The ABB spray painted a warehouse they're using. Not very discreet.
Skitter thinks Newter is good looking if he weren't a mutant.
He claims bugs can't hurt him.
Sundancer can't use her power without seriously hurting people.
Ballistic is her teammate and has the same problem.
The ABB warehouse is full of 20-30 unarmed people in their underwear on the ground floor.
Bakuda's bombs are made of metal and plastic. They go off when humanoid forms pass them. There were 3 traps in the warehouse.
There are 10 armed people upstairs.
Newter runs on all fours. He can leap 15 feet.
His bodily fluids are hallucinogens. He disables living things on contact or even from a distance with his spit.
Kaiser blocked off Bitch from the upstairs with his blades.
Oni Lee and Lung are in the building.
5.7) Oni Lee's duplicates can act for a few seconds. They turn into white ash when destroyed.
One of Coil's soldiers is a sniper.
Bitch was stabbed in the arm.
Skitter's mask lens is damaged.
One of Coil's soldiers was knocked off the roof.
Skitter's bugs get cloned and teleport with Oni Lee.
Labyrinth's power makes checkerboard mazes.
She can't talk.
Oni Lee was shot in the leg.
Coil's soldier has a broken leg.
Sundancer has a gouged shoulder.
Taylor has Labyrinth sat behind.
The ABB were making drugs. The employees are in their underwear to keep them from stealing drugs.
Newter has a knife wound on his shoulder.
The ABB was raping their employees.
When Taylor was 5 or 6 she saw a meth head on the bus.
Several of her classmates left school due to drugs.
Brockton Bay has as many unemployed people as working people.
Taylor says "grody."
Sundancer is Caucasian and pale.
Newter is patched up with sanitary pads. Taped down on 3 sides so they can breathe. A subversion of Taylor's trigger event?
Bitch, Sundancer, and Taylor are strong enough to pick up Newter. He's about 180 lbs. Bitch and Sundancer are about as heavy as Taylor?
Taylor sends Bitch away to handle the injured.
Lung is 15 feet tall, covered in scales, and growing wings.
He lost his mask. His face is catlike, and his nose and mouth are on X shaped opening full of sharp teeth.
He has 6 ABB members with him.
Bitch doesn't care much about her team mates.
Fenja and Menja are 18-20 feet tall. One has a sword and shield, the other a spear.
5.9) Lung has a prehensile neck as long as Skitter's torso.
He has extreme reflexes, strength, and flexibility. He can easily throw Bitch's dogs.
He runs on all fours.
His fire can soften Kaiser's blades. He's strong enough to nreak the smaller ones.
Kaiser can manifest blades under people's feet.
Fenja and Menja are strong enough to knock Lung around.
Lung's fire is blue and yellow.
Fenja and Menja are vulnerable to fire.
Sundancer's power makes a sun strong enough to melt asphalt. She can control its direction.
It's hot enough to weaken Lung.
Kaiser impaled Lung through the heart, and he still regenerated.
Lung has red batlike wings covered in silver scales.
He's now 17 feet tall.
He slammed Kaiser into a wall repeatedly until he was unconscious.
Fenja has the spear.
He stabbed Menja in the stomach with a claw.
Her real name is Nessa.
Lung can disperse Sundancer's sun as she makes it.
Sundancer is immune to fire.
Lung knocked her aside.
Lung could have killed Skitter, Bitch, and everyone else present but toyed with them instead.
Lung was affected by Newter's venom in his eye.
Tattletale and Regent's team found Bakuda's workshop.
Lung can regrow an arm in a few months.
Skitter cut Lung's eyes out.
Bitch's dogs heal when they return to normal.
Skitter asked Fenja to see if Kaiser would drop the Dogfighting issue since she saved his life.
5.10) The ABB warehouse is at Whitemore and Sunset.
Sundancer is shocked over Skitter cutting out Lung's eyes.
Some of Coil's soldiers are trained medics.
Newter has fast healing.
Skitter's bugs took the ABB's money.
Newter touches Coil's soldier and Labyrinth with his hands with no effect. His wraps protect them?
Faultline's crew has several bases. They travel through the sewers using Labyrinth's power.
Newter can't get an infection. He's toxic to bacteria and parasites.
His power warped his body.
Labyrinth's power warped her mind. Sometimes she's lucid, other times she seems elsewhere.
She was rescued from somewhere. Her mazes are prettier than they used to be.
Skitter regrets not having a full helmet to protect her head.
She thought Bitch was going to kiss her.
She has bruises all over her from Lung.
Bitch carries dog food in her jacket.
Taylor's power hasn't affected her mind.
Bitch's power altered her mind to read body language better. It helps her communicate with dogs.
She has dog psychology, but it affected her ability to communicate with humans.
Tattletale doesn't trust Brian and Alec with this information.
5.I) Gregor the Snail has brown fingernails.
He hires people to run errands for hi due to his appearance.
He doesn't do anything illegal.
The pay is $400.
He has enemies.
He's about 30, 5 foot 10, and 3 times the average weight.
Palanquin club is 2 blocks from Lord Street. The sign is yellow.
Gregor used to work as a bouncer.
Newter is about 16.
Faultline openly discusses her jobs.
Gregor is Icelandic.
Faultline's crew had a job whee they went against Toybox, black market Tinkers a month ago.
They had a job in Philedelphia where they encountered Chevalier and Myrddin. They didn't lose.
Chevalier is the head of the Philedelphia Protectorate.
Myrddin is the head of the Chicago Protectorate.
People can't overdose on Newter's poison. It has no side effects and isn't addictive.
The bouncer in Palanquin is named Pierce.
Emily aka Spitfire and Elle aka Labyrinth share a room.
Emily has curly brown hair and freckles.
She has a Apple computer.
Elle is blonde.
Her power is strongest the less lucid she is. When she's fully aware, she has almost no power.
The Dragonslayers are villains who stole technology from the most powerful Tinker in the world. They're mercenaries and thieves.
Someone in an asylum in Boston knew about them and Faultline's crew got the information.
They fought the Boston Protectorate and recruited Elle from the asylum.
Faultline owns Palanquin as well as other businesses.
She has wavy black hair and sharp features.
Her power creates red and blue energy that manipulates wood, metal, stone, and plastic.
She cannot affect living wood.
She once toppled building on someone.
The Manton effect may be psychological and protect people from their own powers.
Gregor is stronger than Faultline.
He has thick skin and a layer of fluid protecting his bones and organs. His skeleton is flexible cartilage. He can be hit by a car without being injured.
A second trigger event is possible in life or death circumstances. It radically changes or improves their powers.
Monstrous parahumans with the "u" or "c" tattoo have been dumped all over North America. They all have amnesia.
4 out of 5 were monstrous at first.
A redheaded girl named Shamrock showed up in Las Vegas. She manipulates probabilities and has a bounty on her head for cheating.
She has a "u" tattoo.
Casinos have largely shut down due to parahumans who could cheat with their powers. Yet BB still had a casino?
People with the tattoo have been getting less monstrous over the years.
The Dealer was selling powers in a bottle in Tallahassee, Florida for $35,000.
His briefcase has the same "u" symbol on it.
One of his customers was murdered.
Sybill the Scarab has a beetle shell.
The makers of the potions have been getting better at it.
The Dealer stole the potions, as his customers didn't have tattoos.
The Dealer is likely dead.
Faultline's crew has a contract with Coil.
She has private investigators and wants to recruit Shamrock.

The Big Ol' Bigot Boycott List

We may have a lot of people against us, but it's good to remember that there are a lot of corporations out there that either are for us, or that at least want to keep up appearances.
If someone tells you that they're boycotting Angie's list because they oppose same-sex marriage, show them this list (I just compiled) of other things they should then be boycotting. This [incomplete] list consists of organizations that have received a score of at least 80 from the Human Rights Campaign, and/or that have been specifically targeted for a boycott by the National Organization for Marriage.
And if any employee of a place on this list [I'm specifically thinking of hotels] tries to discriminate on religious grounds, because the larger corporation is on HRC's list, talking to management, or climbing higher up the corporate ladder will probably let you find someone willing to help.
